Outside of My Scrubs: 3 Valentine's Day Outfit Options

Ok so if you haven't figured it out by now, I suck at following the norm.  I don't think I've ever worn a red dress for Valentine's day, and I doubt I ever will.  Not that there's anything wrong with a little snug-fitting red thread that hugs all your curves in the right places (and in some curves I never even knew I had), but I just like to be unpredictable.  You know, like that dude with a degree, nice smile, and smells like Mahogany and bergamot, but then says, "Valentime's", or says he voted for Trump and tries to explain why; equally irritating.

So here's some options for those who strive to be that pop of "Oh, I wasn't expecting that" just as much as me, or for those who don't own a red dress and ain't about that last minute shopping life.

1. Frills and Polkas

I actually wore this for a Christmas party, but the theme of red still applies.  A chic and fashion forward piece paired with a pop of red will always reign supreme.  And a coat serving as that said pop of red is appropriate, given that Mother Nature is trying to kill us all this season with this cold ass weather only fit for wooly mammoths and panda bears.  😇

2. The Little Black Dress...That I Sucked at Pulling Off

So y'all remember how I said that I would share with y'all the photos even if I wasn't feelin' em? Welp, these pics are a testament to that saying.  I was SO COLD while taking these photos I couldn't show you all the beauty of this dress.  So I'll include some photos of the seller wearing it so you all can really see its beauty.

But the point is that a little black dress never hurt anyone.  Add a red purse, red jacket, or a red brooch, and you're good to go.

3. Throw a Cape on it....Call it "Supa-Fly"!

So I actually wore this to the mall the other day and figured that this would also be a great addition to this collection of, "Damn, that was unexpected." Who wouldn't love to see their date pop up in a fashion forward and unique piece like this?! Add a red lip to ANYTHING and I guarantee you the outfit is appropriate for V-Day.  And I know y'all get tired of seeing this red purse lol, but that's real life: recycling my favorite pieces.  Here, I focus more so on wearing it as a clutch, so that this fabulous ass cape can pop on its own and isn't overshadowed.  💁🏽‍♀️

Ok so I'm feeling nosey so let me know where y'all are going for V-Day, even if that includes straight to your couch/bed by yourself to sleep 'cause self care counts too! 😘 Sending you all love on this special day! ❤️💏👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩❤️
